The Japanese eyelash curler and its history

In 1955, all eyelash curlers were imported from USA. Ameya -Yokocho market in Ueno, Tokyo was the only place to purchase imported top quality cosmetics from America at the time in Japan. We used to purchase them from those imported cosmetic dealers and tried to make copies of American top quality cosmetics. Along with the Television sets spread around 1965 in Japan, young girls were inspired to copy popular female singers’ fashion and make up. Particularly female singer Akiko Wada’s eye makeup gave young Japanese girls great inspiration on how they should look to be “fashionable” at the time

Eyelash curlers became a necessity to use false eyelashes as it joins the real eyelash with the false eyelash.
These circumstances created large demands for eyelash curlers that demanded an inevitable mass production and technology development for eyelash curlers.

To make mass production of eyelash curlers possible, we had to develop brand new metal patterns for eyelash curlers and copies of American eyelash curlers were no longer used. As a result of over 10 years of our consistent hard work, we have successfully created the no.1 best eyelash curler pattern in Japan. This manufacturing technique has been adopted by not only ourselves but also other companies for producing eyelash curlers. We are proud of that we have already obtained the manufacturing technique for creating high quality eyelash curlers for over 45 years. Today many eyelash curlers have been produced in Japan and Asian countries, but it is not easy for them to make copies of Japanese companies’ production techniques that was the result of years of our consistent effort.
